"La Gringa"
Not born into this family her role wasn't always defined. She didn’t just become one of their leaders, THEY became her family; and, in truth, they had led her all these years not the other way around; so how could she not step-up, even if reluctantly, when the opportunity arose for her to help lead, a growing vision, in return. This family became her family by way of teaching all the things you teach the children you love inorder to send them out into the world as functional people. If you asked her, she was as functional as a child when she met them surrounded by a new community, culture, place, and a language that had been long since lost to her born family; she was outside of her element and they took her by the hand and she followed.

It wasn’t until years later when she noticed the brothers disappearing beyond a tree line, that up until this point had represented little more, to her, than where the houses ended, that things began to slowly change. Anyone can become accustomed to new and uncomfortable tasks/titles when your family’s livelihood depends on it; and so, she rose like they each did, one to lead by choice, one by will, and her by vision and in that way she became the 3rd reluctant leader on a team they didn’t know they were forming.

Lizz brings to the family a passion for people & plants, for the places they intersect, and the way life is most sustainable in communion with both. She has a background in Youth work in Detroit Michigan, where she was born and raised, which she still works in today, and holds a Degree in Global Supply Chain Management which led her to 5 years spent in Corporate. Although she always dreamed of being an artist and entrepreneur she didn't find farming until her last year of corporate when: some seeds, a legacy unbeknownst to her, and a vacant lot next to the abandoned home she bought to make her own and renovate with her own hands, set her down a path, that would lead to the Dominican Republic, to a family that would become home, and that together would lead to a farm and a future.
